My project for the summer of 2009 was to work with the Saint Mary’s University Students’ Association (SMUSA) on redesigning and reworking their website from the ground up.
Until the first half of 2009 they were using asp to power their website which proved to be troublesome and difficult to update and maintain. So I joined in to help re-invent the website working closely with the members of the student associations we have come to the decision that using drupal an open source CMS was the best way to solve the problem.
Having never used drupal before proved to be a hindrance, but I am a stubborn person, and my hack-and-break-drupal-now attitude was a wonderful experience in learning how to develop it.
I have managed to take two screen shots of the SMUSA page, one of the old one, and one of the new one just to show the difference.
