How significant do you think we are? In the grand scheme of things we are nothing. I’ve done my fair share of Astrophysics while at SMU, and I am aware of the relative size of the universe and how insignificant the planet Earth is.
Today I saw this picture (click the picture for a larger version)
As you can see compared to other things we are nothing! But still is it surprising that the human race has accomplished so much in what little time we have been on this planet.
